So another strange thought recently occurred to me...
We are once again in the process of trying to take care of my ailing mother/molester (she has no one else, and I made a BAD decision when I decided to sell her Daddy's land) and Jordan's uncle (also his molester, but he's spent his time, was "persuaded" by other family members to do the deed, is mentally handicapped, and literally has NOWHERE else to go). They are both trying very hard to make up for their past deeds, but at the same time, while they're helping, it can so often seem like they're pulling so much from us.
The thought occurred to me one day last week, when I was feeling especially emotionally and mentally drained from it all, that I wonder if such dealings with well-intentioned family members could have played a role in the creation of the Helping Hands?
Jordan bought me a new copy of Labyrinth for my upcoming birthday, and while watching it last night, I was again reminded of this idea behind the creation of the Helping Hands. Their whole conversation with Sarah actually kind of adds creedence to this idea. They try to get her to make up her own mind what she wants to do next, and then are clearly very judgmental of it.
There's even the whole lines where they're confused as to why they're hurting her, because all they're trying to do, or so they claim, is help.
Any thoughts any other fans may want to share on this concept?
